Which formats can be cleaned losslessly? What about HEIC/AVIF?
JPEG, PNG, and WebP can be cleaned losslessly (pixels unchanged). AVIF/HEIC can usually be viewed if your browser supports them; to remove their metadata, convert to a standard format first, then clean.
Will cleaning change image quality?
No—lossless cleaning removes only metadata from supported formats. The image pixels are not recompressed.
Why did my photo look rotated after cleaning?
Some photos rely on the EXIF Orientation tag. Removing metadata clears that tag. If you need the rotation baked into pixels, re‑encode before cleaning (you can use the Image Converter).Can I remove only GPS/location and keep other tags?
