Frequently Asked Questions

Is this converter free and private?Yes. Everything runs 100% in your browser. Files never leave your device and there’s no signup, limits, or watermarks.
Does it support multiple files and drag & drop?Yes. Select several HEIC/HEIF files at once or drag & drop them. You can preview each result, download individually, or download all as a ZIP.
How do I change JPEG quality?Choose “JPEG” and adjust the quality slider (default 90%). Higher values increase quality and file size.
Can PNG output have a quality setting? No. PNG is lossless. Compression level does not change visual quality and isn’t exposed in browsers; PNG is always saved at full quality.
Do you keep the original filename?Yes. We keep the base name and only change the extension to .jpg or .png.
Do you preserve EXIF metadata (date, location, camera)? In most browser conversions EXIF is not preserved. If you must keep metadata, convert on a desktop app that supports EXIF carryover.
Does it handle multi‑image HEIC (Live Photos, bursts)? It converts the first image in each HEIC/HEIF file. Full multi‑image extraction for Live Photos/bursts isn’t available in browsers yet.
Will the image size or orientation change? The converter decodes the HEIC and re‑encodes to JPEG/PNG respecting orientation flags. Pixel dimensions are preserved unless a browser applies memory‑safety downscaling on extremely large images.
Any file size or count limits? No hard limits from the tool. Practical limits depend on your browser memory and device. For very large batches, convert in smaller groups or use the ZIP option.
Which browsers are supported?Modern Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari. Internet Explorer and very old browsers are not supported.
Why do some colors look slightly different after conversion?Color profiles may be simplified by the browser during re‑encode. For critical color work, consider desktop tools that preserve embedded ICC profiles.
Why did a conversion fail?Common reasons: corrupted HEIC, extremely large dimensions, low device memory, or an old browser. Try reloading the page, converting fewer files, or updating your browser.
Can I download all converted images together?Yes. Use “Download All as ZIP” to save every converted image in one archive.
