Frequently Asked Questions
No. The file is read locally; nothing is uploaded.
Only the metadata you edit (title, author, language) and the cover image if you replace it. Chapter content, formatting, and structure are preserved byte-for-byte.
No. Encrypted or rights-managed EPUBs can't be repackaged. Use this only on EPUBs you own and have rights to modify.
Whatever JPEG, PNG, or WebP you upload. Recommended size: around 1600 px on the longest side. The new image keeps the same manifest entry as the original cover.
Slightly. The rewrap uses standard DEFLATE compression for the content files (and STORE for the mimetype, per spec). If you swap a much larger or smaller cover, that will dominate the diff.
Kindle apps cache cover thumbnails. If the cover doesn't update, remove the book from your library and re-send it, or rename it slightly.
Only if the issue is metadata-related. Structural problems (missing OPF, bad nav, broken zip) need a fuller fix.
